Threshold Grants

Threshold Grants Program Background

Threshold Foundation is a membership organization comprised of individuals with significant financial resources who contribute their time, money and energies to support progressive social change through volunteer-based philanthropy. Grant funds are derived from a combination of annual member contributions and payout from our endowment.

We serve the social change movement by funding innovative national and international non-profit organizations working to further the causes of social justice, environmental preservation, humane economic systems and the peaceful coexistence of individuals, communities and cultures.

2010-2011 Grantmaking Cycle

In 2010-2011, Threshold's grants program will include two core grantmaking committees - the Sustainable Planet Committee and the Justice and Democracy Committee - and two funding circles: Queer Youth Fund and Election Integrity

Due to an overwhelming number of Letter of Inquiries (LOIs) received last year during Threshold’s open call for LOIs, Threshold Foundation’s next core grantmaking committee cycle for 2010-2011 will be invitation-only. An open LOI submission process will be re-assessed during this year for future grantmaking cycles.

For more information regarding this change, please visit the Requesting Funding page.

Threshold Foundation's Funding Circles fund outside of the annual core committee grantmaking cycle and request applications by invitation only. Please visit the Funding Circles pages to learn more..
